Formed at the tail end of February 2025, j. bear & the cubs began as a one-off indie folk-pop project for Músíktilraunir, Iceland’s national battle of the bands. But once the ball got rolling, it didn’t dare stop.

Blending raw lyricism with warm harmonies and a touch of whimsy, j. bear & the cubs are on a mission to finish songs that have been quietly waiting in the background for a decade. Now fully active, the band is ready to play anytime, anywhere with one goal: to spread good vibes and share a message of love and acceptance.
